TruWeigh Caravan & Vehicle Weighing -Wangaratta

From AUD$295.00

TruWeigh Caravan & Vehicle Weighing helps caravan owners, travellers and tow-vehicle operators understand exactly what their vehicle and caravan weigh — and how those weights relate to safe, stable and compliant towing. We use professional portable weighing equipment to measure your tow vehicle, caravan and complete combination. Depending on the vehicle configuration, this may include individual axle loads, total vehicle weights, caravan weight, tow-ball load and the combined weight of the complete rig. Just as importantly, we explain the results. You receive practical information about what the figures mean, where your available weight margins are, and whether changes to loading may be worth considering before you travel. What you should do before your weighing For the most useful result, bring your vehicle and caravan as close as practical to normal travelling condition. That means having the items you would normally travel with on board, including luggage, tools, food, water, gas bottles, accessories and other equipment. Ideally, the people who normally travel in the vehicle should also be included, or their approximate weight allowed for. Fuel and water levels can make a significant difference, so consider whether you want the weighing to represent your normal departure condition, your typical travelling condition, or another specific loading situation. Why TruWeigh uses suitable weighing locations Portable weighing equipment does not mean that every location is suitable for weighing a caravan or vehicle. Accurate and safe weighing requires adequate room to position and manoeuvre the vehicle, a reasonably firm and level surface, and a location where the activity can be conducted without creating a hazard or interfering with other road or property users. There must also be appropriate permission to conduct the weighing activity at the location. For that reason, TruWeigh does not simply advertise that "we come to you" regardless of where your vehicle is parked. A suburban street, shopping-centre car park, public reserve, roadside area or privately owned car park may not be suitable, and a commercial operator may not necessarily have permission to conduct weighing activities there. When comparing mobile weighing services, we recommend asking the operator where the weighing will take place, whether the surface is suitable, and whether they have permission to conduct their business at that location. TruWeigh operates from suitable arranged weighing locations and can also discuss other locations where the site, access and permission requirements can be properly satisfied. Our aim is straightforward: give you useful, understandable weight information so you can make informed decisions about how you load and tow your caravan or trailer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need my own vehicle and caravan?
We don't provide hire vehicles ourselves — if you don't have your own towing vehicle or caravan, you'll need to arrange a hire vehicle through a local car or caravan hire company before the course. Trailers can be hired through Move Yourself or You Haul — a dual axle furniture van is a good option.

What if it's wet on the day?
We reschedule rather than cancel — you're welcome to pick any other course date or venue that suits you. We're just not able to offer refunds.

Is this for experienced towers too?
Absolutely — in 21 years of running this course, even people with 40 years of towing experience tell us they learned things they'd never come across before.
